UPDATE ON WITBANK GOLF CLUB.
As promised I would keep you up to date on the status of the Golf Club.
Firstly, as some of you may have noticed, we now have a stocked pro shop and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Mr Renier De Beer and his wife Desiray to the Witbank Golf Club.
Renier will be running the golf shop as well as assisting with the junior golf foundation (accredited), consulting on the golf course if necessary, (he is a qualified greenkeeper) and giving golf lessons – he is also a class PGA professional. Please feel free to go and have a chat to him as you will find him very experienced, willing, helpful and knowledgeable. Please don’t be shy to advertise our new addition to the golf club, as this will promote Witbank Golf Club which can only be beneficial to all of us. I wish him and his family all the best and much success in their new venture.
With reference to the state of the greens in the last couple of months, Jeff has treated and reseeded the troubled greens. Although we are going into winter Jeff is positive and happy with the progress and has assured me that we will be opening these greens on the 17th June. Those members who have continued playing through this trying time will understand the process we have gone through. I would like to thank all those that were eager to help where they could.
The opening of the greens on the 17th June 2011 will coincide with a Golf Pro Shop sponsored day. The details will be in the Pro Shop. I would like to encourage all our members to participate so as to start this new chapter at our golf club on a positive note.
This brings me to an aspect that I have to address, but not very willingly. Unfortunately there are some of our members that have not paid their annual subs and this puts the club in financial constraints. As from the 15th June 2011 any members that have not paid their dues will be informed in writing and have 14 days with which to rectify this matter. Thereafter if the monies due have not been paid their membership will unfortunately be terminated. Any member who has difficulty in meeting his/her commitment please feel free to approach me so that an agreement can be reached for the outstanding money.
I do hope that the above action is considered in the light that the club needs finances to maintain itself and is in no way directed to any person individually.
In conclusion, having spoken to members in general I am happy to report that most are very positive for the future of our club. Wishing you all the best, and, many hours of happy golfing.

After months of planning and preperation, The Witbank Golf Club was successfully re-launched amidst much fanfare and celebration on the 24th of September 2014.
To coincide with the re-launch, new branding, a new logo and a refreshed website was also introduced to the public.
We would like to thank our members, sponsors, suppliers, staff and everyone who worked tirelessly to make our re-launch a success.
